No boating license is required to rent our boats. They are under 5m long and powered by a 40 hp engine, which is within the limit that does not require a formal license in Sweden. Basic boating knowledge and responsible behaviour are essential when operating any motorboat.
A boat licence isn’t required, but it can be a good idea and make your trip safer and more enjoyable. The “Förarintyg” is the basic one, followed by the "Kustskepparintyg”
The 🇬🇧 RYA Day Skipper or 🇫🇷 Permis bateau option côtière or 🇺🇸 US Power Squadrons are the nearest equivalent to Swedish Förarintyg.

Previous boating experience is helpful but not mandatory. The Terhi 450 is a stable and easy-to-handle motorboat.
Before leaving the harbour, we explain how the boat works and how to use the Garmin GPS plotter. We won’t give you a full boating education; therefore, prior experience is good to have.

Visiting Landsort lighthouse
Fishing in quiet bays

Kayaking or paddleboarding

Within a typical day trip you can easily reach several famous destinations such as Nåttarö, Järflotta and Landsort.
Before heading out, always check the full-day weather forecast. The wind is a more important factor than the sun or rain. We recommend using YR (link to Nynäshamn’s YR). The wind will blow in the same direction as the arrow you see. The wind is predicted in m/s (meters per second). 1m/s is roughly equal to 4km/h (3.6km/h is even closer but makes the conversion more difficult). 10m/s = 40km/h.

Fuel is not included in the rental price and is charged based on usage.
The Suzuki 40 hp engines are very fuel efficient, and most day trips use a moderate amount of fuel.
There’s a marine gaz station (Sjömacken Nynäshamn) in the harbour, opened 24/7 but manned 7 days week between 10.00 and 18.00. Google map link here.

Safety always comes first. If weather conditions are unsafe, we recommend adjusting your route or postponing your rental.
You do not want to motor back from Nåttarö with a 12m/s south wind. The sea will be choppy and make the trip unsafe/very slow.
Adjusting your route might mean staying closer to shore and not crossing bigger waters.

Yes. Many guests bring a picnic, lunch or snacks to enjoy on the islands.
There are restaurants and cafés in Nynäshamns harbour where you can fill up your lunch basket. We recommend visiting Skärgårdscafét, they have great lunch and fika options. Google map link.
There are also cafés and restaurants on some islands, such as Nåttarö and Landsort.
-
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own equipment such as fishing gear, paddleboards or small camping gear.
Please make sure everything is safely stored on board.
-
Overnight rentals are possible.
Camping on islands is allowed in many places under Sweden’s Right of Public Access, provided you respect nature and local rules :)
-
Yes. Cliff mooring is a common and traditional way of docking in the Stockholm archipelago.
We provide the necessary equipment.
If you use the App “Skippo”, you’ll see the safe moorings. Blue lines are where it’s deep enough for motorboats to moore all the way to the cliff (vs. red lines for sailing boats which have a deeper hull/keel)

The boating season usually runs from May to September, with July and August offering the warmest water and longest days.
Early summer and late summer are often quieter and equally beautiful.
Your pick!
